Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast paced world.
Hello and welcome. My name is Hannah and you're listening to the Love Your Calm podcast. I'm so happy you're here today. It means so much that you have chosen to join me today for this meditation.
This week's practice is all about embracing the day. Let's take this opportunity to spend a few minutes preparing for how we would like to show up today. To set the tone for the day ahead.
Let's get started.
Let's begin today day by gently closing your eyes, if that is comfortable for you. Or if you prefer, you can just soften your gaze. Take a deep breath in here and exhale slowly, letting go of any tension.
Allow your body to find a position that is comfortable for you today. Take any movements you need as you give yourself permission to begin to relax and prepare for this practice.
As you settle into this moment, allow yourself to connect with your breath. Inhale deeply, feeling your chest rise and exhale fully, releasing any lingering thoughts or worries.
Now let's take a moment to reflect on the day ahead. To take a few minutes to consider how you would like the day to go. Maybe consider asking yourself questions like what do you want to experience today? What feelings would you like to embrace?
As your breath continues here with its natural rhythm, think about any challenges you may face today. How can you approach these with an open heart? It may be helpful to remind yourself that it's okay to experience discomfort; this is a natural part of the journey. Maybe give yourself permission to respond to today's challenges with kindness towards yourself.
Take this opportunity to also reflect on the small joys that are waiting for you. What simple moments can you look forward to today? A warm cup of coffee or tea? A conversation with a friend. A few moments of calm. Allow these thoughts to fill you with warmth and anticipation.
Take a round of breath here on your own, allowing all of these reflections to settle in.
When you are ready, inhale deeply, inviting in a sense of calm and readiness and exhale slowly, releasing any tension or resistance you may feel about the day.
And when it is comfortable for you, begin to bring your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movements you may need, maybe wiggling your fingers or toes, rolling your shoulders back and when you are ready, gently open your eyes, ready to embrace today with an open heart and the sense of calm you have created.
Thank you for joining me today for this practice. It means so much to me that you've chosen to spend a few minutes of your day here with me, including meditation in your day. I love the image of all of us meditating together all around the world, creating little pockets of calm. If you enjoyed this practice, take a minute and leave a review. Maybe share this episode with a friend. Together, I know we can keep spreading this calm that we are creating. And as always, thank you for helping me to spread the word that a few minutes of meditation really can make a difference.
Until next week...
