Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast paced world.
Hello and welcome.
My name is Hannah and I want to start today by saying thank you. Thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day to join me for this short meditation.
Today's practice encourages you to take a few minutes to reflect on how far you've come, to check in with yourself and take note of the progress you're making. You're here showing up for this practice. Showing up for yourself. Let's take a few minutes to recognize all the steps we've taken, the progress we've made this year.
Let's get started.
Take a moment to prepare yourself for this practice to find a position that feels good for you today. You may choose to be seated, your feet flat on the ground, or maybe you feel more comfortable sitting cross legged today. Once you're settled, let's begin with one intentional breath.
Inhale through your nose, filling your lungs and exhale slowly through your mouth, beginning to let go of any tension. If it is comfortable for you, you may close your eyes or maybe soften your gaze.
As your breath finds its natural rhythm, you may notice your spine gently lengthening as though the crown of your head is reaching for the sky. The shoulders begin to settle into their natural position, relaxing as any tightness you may be holding begins to soften.
I invite you to bring your awareness to this moment, giving yourself permission to settle into the present, letting go of any distractions. Let's take a minute here to reflect on your journey.
Consider where you were weeks ago, months ago, or maybe even last year. Acknowledge the challenges you have faced and the growth you've experienced since then. Each step, each decision has brought you here to this very moment.
As you inhale, invite in feelings of pride and accomplishment and with the exhale, release any self doubt, embracing the progress you've made. Consider the lessons you've learned along the way, the resilience you've built and the strength that continues to reside within you. You have overcome obstacles and embraced new experiences, each of these helping to shape who you are today.
Take a couple of rounds of breath here on your own, reflecting on this growth, considering how you would like to carry the lessons you have learned to bring them with you into this new day, this new month, or even this new year.
Take one final inhale, filling your heart with gratitude for your journey and exhale fully, letting go of any lingering doubts.
When you are ready, begin to shift your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movements you may need. Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes a little, and when it feels comfortable for you, slowly open your eyes. Ready to return to your day, carrying the awareness you have cultivated today as you continue with the next chapter on your unique journey.
Thank you for joining me for today's short practice. If you haven't already, don't forget to subscribe or follow. This will make sure you get notified every week when the new meditation becomes available.
I'd also love it if you would share this practice with a friend who might find it helpful. Word of mouth is the best way to help a small podcast like this continue to grow.
And as always, thank you for helping me to spread the word that a few minutes of meditation really can make a difference.
Until next week...
