You Are Not Alone: Healing Together (a podcasthon episode)
Special Podcasthon episode
Hello and Welcome
This week's episode is a special podcasthon episode. Podcasthon is a global movement that encourages podcasters to unite and bring awareness to nonprofit organizations-by dedicating one episode of their show to a nonprofit of their choice. These episodes are then released in a coordinated effort during the week of podcasthon.
So this week's mini medication is dedicated to a nonprofit that is particularly close to my heart, To Write Love on Her Arms, or TWLOHA. Personally, I have felt the grief of losing someone I love to suicide. There are no words to describe this sadness. And as a mental health professional, I see the growing need for accessible treatment and practical resources. Mental health matters.
To Write Love on Her Arms is a nonprofit movement that has made it their mission to fill that gap. Their website says it all, "hope and help can't exist without the other." Twloha presents hope and offers resources to help anyone struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and invest directly into treatment and recovery.
