Love Your Calm: Mini Meditations
You Are Not Alone: Healing Together (a podcasthon episode)
Special Podcasthon episode
Hello and Welcome
This week's episode is a special podcasthon episode. Podcasthon is a global movement that encourages podcasters to unite and bring awareness to nonprofit organizations-by dedicating one episode of their show to a nonprofit of their choice. These episodes are then released in a coordinated effort during the week of podcasthon.
So this week's mini medication is dedicated to a nonprofit that is particularly close to my heart, To Write Love on Her Arms, or TWLOHA. Personally, I have felt the grief of losing someone I love to suicide. There are no words to describe this sadness. And as a mental health professional, I see the growing need for accessible treatment and practical resources. Mental health matters.
To Write Love on Her Arms is a nonprofit movement that has made it their mission to fill that gap. Their website says it all, "hope and help can't exist without the other." Twloha presents hope and offers resources to help anyone struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and invest directly into treatment and recovery.

Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast Mini Meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast paced world.
Hello and welcome.
This week's episode is a part of Podcasthon.
If you're not familiar, Podcasthon is a movement helping podcasters all across the world bring awareness to nonprofit organizations by releasing episodes in a coordinated effort.
So this week's mini meditation is dedicated to a nonprofit organization close to my heart, To Write Love on Her Arms. To Write Love on Her Arms is a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.
I have personally felt the profound grief of losing a loved one to suicide and as a professional in the mental health field, I see the increasing demand for mental health resources and accessible treatment every day.
To Write Love On Her Arms provides hope and help to those who need it.
You can find a link with more information in my show notes. I encourage you to visit their website and share it with anyone who might need it.
In honor of the incredible support being offered by To Write Love on Her Arms this week's practice is a reminder that you are not alone.
So let's get started.
Begin by finding a comfortable position. You can remain seated if that feels comfortable for you, or you can be lying down if that feels better today. If it feels safe for you, consider closing your eyes gently or maybe just soften your gaze, giving yourself permission to begin to prepare for this practice.
As you settle into your breath, I invite you to shift your focus to your body. Feel your muscles begin to soften as your body starts to relax with each inhale.
Invite in a sense of calm with each exhale. Begin to let go of any worries or distractions from your day. Begin to shift your awareness inward.
Take a moment here to acknowledge any feelings that may arise for you. At times. this may include feelings of loneliness or isolation. Whatever feelings come up for you, it's okay. It's okay to feel whatever you may be feeling right now.
Give yourself a moment to acknowledge these feelings without any judgment. This might sound something like "I'm feeling down right now" or "I'm feeling so overwhelmed and exhausted." Whatever you're feeling is okay.
As you breathe in, remind yourself that these feelings are part of the human experience. You are not alone in these emotions. Whatever you may be going through in your life right now, you are not alone.
If it is comfortable for you, begin to visualize a warm light surrounding you. This light represents the connection we all share. Imagine it expanding with each breath, embracing you, comforting you and reminding you that we are all a part of the human experience. You are not alone.
I invite you to take a moment here to give yourself permission to feel this connection, to remind yourself that all of your feelings are valid, you are worthy of love and support.
You are not alone.
Take one final round of breath here, taking this opportunity to remind yourself you are not alone.
And when you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to the space around you when it is comfortable for you. Slowly open your eyes. Carry this sense of connection and support with you throughout your day.
