Hannah Castillo:  Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast-paced world.

Hello and welcome.

This week's episode is focused on something I think we all experience at times...the inner critic. We all have one and sometimes that little voice can sound pretty loud.

So today, let's take a few minutes together to quiet this inner critic, practice self-compassion, and create a few minutes of calm.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable position. Take a moment to settle into a position that feels good for you today, taking any cues from your body. When you are ready, gently close your eyes if that feels good for you, or maybe soften your gaze. Let's take an intentional breath here together to help prepare for this practice. Take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your stomach to expand fully. Hold for just a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension or self-doubt.

As you settle into your breath, let it flow naturally, finding its own steady rhythm. With each inhale, invite in a sense of calm and self-acceptance. With each exhale, give yourself permission to release any negative thoughts or judgments that may arise. Begin to shift your awareness inward. Acknowledge the presence of your inner critic, that voice that may tell you you're not enough or that you should be doing better. Recognize that this voice does not define who you are, it doesn't have any more power than you give it.

Silently affirm to yourself
I am enough just as I am.

Repeat this affirmation gently, allowing it to resonate within you, to begin to take root to create a sense of safety and self-compassion.

I am enough just as I am.

Maybe consider placing one hand on your heart as your breath continues evenly. Give yourself permission to connect with your true self. Kind, capable, worthy, your true self inside. And with each inhale continue to breathe in love and acceptance, using each exhale to let go of any critical thoughts that remain. To create space for openness and self-compassion.

Take one final breath here on your own, filling your lungs with this nurturing energy. Understanding that you have the power to quiet your inner critic whenever you need.

When you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to the present moment. Take any movements you might need and slowly in your own time, open your eyes.Carry this sense of calm and self-acceptance with you throughout your day, remembering you are enough just as you are.
