Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast paced world.

Hello and welcome.

Sometimes it feels like time moves by so quickly it can be hard to catch your breath to remember to stop and take a moment to check in with yourself.

This week's practice is focused on embracing the pause. It's a reminder to slow down to remember to check in with yourself.

Let's get started.

Begin by finding a comfortable position. Take any movements you may need and settle into a position that feels good for you today. If it feels safe for you, gently close your eyes or if you would prefer, maybe soften your gaze. Let's take one intentional breath here together. Inhale slowly, breathing in through your nose, feeling your stomach rise. Hold it for a moment and exhale completely, beginning to feel your body relax.

As you prepare for this practice, let your breath flow naturally here, finding its own rhythm and with each inhale, invite in a sense of peace and tranquility. With each exhale, let go of any stress or overwhelm, releasing it with the breath.

I invite you to bring your awareness to the idea of the pause. It seems like there's always something that needs done nowadays. Pausing can feel like a luxury, but taking the pause is actually a powerful practice that can help you reconnect with yourself and the present moment.

Take a moment to reflect on how a pause could help create space for clarity, choice, or even renewal. As you continue to breathe, think about pauses you can begin to incorporate into your routine. It can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths before starting the next task, allowing yourself to sit in silence for a moment or maybe even taking a break and stepping outside to feel the fresh air. Each pause serves as a gentle reminder to check in with yourself and your needs. And if any distractions arise during your pause, acknowledge them without any judgment. Understand that it's completely normal for the mind to wander and gently guide your focus back to your breath and your intention.

Give yourself permission to embrace the pause.

Take a couple of rounds of breath here on your own, fully embracing this pause.

And when you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movements you may need and slowly, when it feels good for you, gently open your eyes. Carry this sense of presence and intention with you throughout your day, remembering that each pause is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and to check in with what you may need in this moment.
