Hannah Castillo:  Mini Meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast-paced world.

Hello and welcome.

This week's meditation is a listener request and is focused on listening to your body. It's so easy to take our health and bodies for granted. In fact, this is something I imagine we can all probably relate to in some way.

So let's get started.

Begin by finding a position that feels comfortable for you. Take any movements you may need before settling into a position that feels good for you today. If it feels safe for you, consider closing your eyes or maybe just soften your gaze.

Let's take one intentional breath here. Inhale completely, feeling your stomach rise. Gently hold this for a moment and exhale fully, beginning to release any tension you may be holding.

Your breath continues naturally, finding its own rhythm, settling into its own steady space, each inhale inviting in a sense of awareness and presence. And with each exhale, let go of any noise or distractions that may be pulling your attention away from this moment.

I invite you to begin to shift your awareness to your physical self. Maybe start noticing the surface beneath you, feeling the support it provides. Connect with the sensation of being grounded and held in this moment. As you continue with your breath,

Repeat this affirmation to yourself, either silently or out loud.

I listen to my body with love and compassion.

I listen to my body with love and compassion.

Let this affirmation resonate within you, creating a sense of respect and openness to whatever your body may be communicating. As you breathe naturally, gently scan your body from head to toe. Pay attention to any areas that feel tense, relaxed or even neutral. Acknowledge these sensations without judgment, simply observing them as they are. If you notice any areas of discomfort or tightness, breathe into these spaces. Imagine each inhale, bringing warmth and healing. While each exhale releases any tension, allow yourself to fully experience any sensations, trusting that your body is a wise guide and is simply sharing insights about how you are doing.

If any thoughts arise, gently notice them and let them drift away, returning your focus to your body, reminding yourself that it's important to take this time to connect,  listen and honor your needs.

Take a couple of rounds of breath here on your own, filling your lungs with a sense of connection and gratitude for your body.

And when you are ready, begin to bring yourself back to the space around you. Take any movement you may need and when you are ready in your own time, gently open your eyes, feeling calm, centered and ready to return to your day.
