Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast-paced world.
Hello and welcome.
This week's episode is another listener request. Stress levels seem to be at a high for a lot of us right now, so this week's meditation will help you slow down, connect with yourself and just chill out for a while.
Let's get started. Begin by finding a comfortable position. Take any movements you may need, maybe roll your shoulders back, take a little stretch, whatever feels good for you today. When you're settled, you can gently close your eyes if that feels safe for you, or maybe just soften your gaze. Let's start with one intentional breath together.
Inhale through your nose, allowing your lungs to fill completely. Hold it for just a moment and exhale slowly through your mouth, starting to release any tension or stress you may be carrying. Notice your body beginning to soften as you settle into this practice. As you relax into your breath, let it flow naturally. With each inhale, invite in a sense of calm, a feeling of peace. With each exhale. Let go of any worries or distractions that are on your mind, visualizing them just melting away.
Notice as your body becomes heavier and more relaxed with each breath. As you continue to breathe, note the rhythm of your breath. Inhale deeply, filling your lungs with air, and then exhale slowly, allowing your body to sink deeper into relaxation with each breath.
Imagine a gentle wave of calm washing over you, soothing both your mind and your body, matching the rhythm of your breath. Any thoughts that begin to arise, gently acknowledge them and let them drift away. Remind yourself that this is your time to chill out, to let go of everything else and simply be present in this moment.
Take a moment to focus on the sensation of your breath. Feel the cool air entering your nostrils and the warm air leaving your body. I invite you to use this awareness to anchor you in this present moment, creating a safe space where you can relax and let go of any stress. Take a couple of rounds of breath here in this safe space, this moment of calm.
And when you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movement you may need and slowly in your own time, open your eyes. Carry this sense of peace and relaxation with you throughout your day, remembering that you can return to this moment, this safe space, whenever you need it.
