Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast-paced world.
Hello and welcome.
This week's meditation is short and will help you calm down quickly. You can use it first thing in the morning to start your day or listen to it anytime during the day when you need a break. It'll leave you feeling relaxed and more centered.
Let's get started.
Find a comfortable position. Whatever feels good for you in this moment. You can take any movements you might need to help you really settle into the space around you. If it's comfortable for you, consider closing your eyes or maybe just lower your gaze.
When you are ready, begin to shift your awareness to your breath, allowing it to flow naturally here. Notice the breath entering and leaving your body as it starts to find its natural rhythm. You may feel your body beginning to soften a little as your breath begins to steady and you start to let go of any tension you have been holding as your body continues to relax.
I invite you to imagine a beautiful, calming color. It can be any color that resonates with you at this moment moment. Any color you associate with a peaceful state. A color that brings you a sense of calm. And as you continue with your breath, imagine breathing in this color. Use the inhale to invite in this calming color. Visualize it coming in and filling your body with a sense of peace and relaxation. With each exhale, picture any stress or worry leaving your body carried away from you on your breath. Let's take a few moments to continue this breathing pattern.
Inhale deeply, inviting in your chosen calming color and exhale, releasing any lingering tension or anxiety. Take a couple of calming breaths like this on your own.
And when you are ready, take one final inhale, filling your entire being with your calming color. Hold it for a moment and then exhale slowly, releasing anything that doesn't support your peace.
When it is comfortable for you, begin to bring yourself back to the space around you. Take any movements you may need, maybe wiggle your fingers or toes, and when you're ready in your own time, slowly open your eyes, feeling lighter and more refreshed.
