Hannah Castillo: Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast-paced world.
Hello and welcome.
This week's meditation is focused on gratitude. As we approach as we approach the holidays, there seems to be more and more discussion about feeling grateful. This time of year can serve as a reminder of the importance of practicing gratitude and the difference this can make in your overall mindset. I believe in taking a moment every day, regardless of the season, to truly acknowledge gratitude. And I know firsthand how much of a difference this can make.
So today let's take a few minutes together to awaken a sense of gratitude.
Let's get started.
Begin by taking a moment to find a position that feels good for you. Whatever this may be today. Once you're settled into your space, consider closing your eyes. If this feels safe for you, or maybe just soften your gaze. Let's take one intentional breath here together to really settle into this practice. Inhale through your nose, feeling your lungs fill with air, your stomach gently rise. Hold it for a moment and exhale completely through your mouth, beginning to release any worry or tension you may be holding.
As your breath begins to find its natural rhythm, I invite you to begin to shift your focus to the present moment to begin to reflect on this idea of gratitude. Maybe start small, acknowledging gratitude for this breath. Gratitude for this moment, this day.
Take a moment to bring to mind one or two things in your life that bring you joy. It can be big or small. Maybe the smile of a loved one, the sun peeking out from behind the clouds, or even a quiet moment to yourself. Whatever comes up for you. As you think of each one, allow your heart to fill with warmth and appreciation. Notice how this feeling of gratitude begins to awaken within you.
As you continue to breathe. Focus on the sensations that arise from this gratitude. Allow it to expand, filling your body. Feel it in your chest, your arms, and even your fingertips, creating a sense of lightness and a connection to the world around you.
Take a couple of rounds of breath here, continuing to awaken this gratitude, feeling it fill your heart and continue to radiate outward, connecting you with everything around you.
Maybe take this opportunity to acknowledge this gratitude with a simple affirmation.
I meet today with gratitude.
Take one final round of breath here. Feeling grateful.
And when you are ready, begin to shift your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movements you may need, maybe wiggle your fingers and toes, and when it feels comfortable for you, slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me for this week's short meditation. It means so much to me that you are here that you've chosen to include a few minutes of meditation in your day and allowed me to guide you.
