Hannah Castillo:  Welcome to the Love Your Calm Podcast: Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast-paced world.

Hello and welcome.

Life is busy and if you're listening to this episode in real time, it's the holidays, which means it can get even busier. It sometimes feels like there are things demanding your attention everywhere, pulling you in all directions. You might find yourself setting an intention to enjoy the season, but then find yourself just making it through another day.

This week's episode is a reminder that taking even a few minutes to be fully present really can make a difference.

Let's get started.

Begin by taking a moment to find a comfortable position. You may choose to be seated, feet flat on the floor, spine lengthened. Or maybe it feels better for you to be sitting cross-legged today or even lying down. Whatever feels best for you. If it is comfortable for you, consider closing your eyes or maybe just lower your gaze.

When you are ready, begin to shift your awareness to the present moment. Notice how your body feels in this moment, any areas of tension, relaxation or even ease.

As your breath begins to find its natural rhythm. Use the inhale to invite in a sense of calm and the exhale to release any distractions or worries that may be lingering in your mind. I invite you to begin to shift your focus to your breath.

Continue to simply observe its natural rhythm without trying to change anything. Notice the sensation of the air entering your nose, filling your lungs and then gently leaving your body. As you do this. thoughts may continue to come and go, to float in and out.

It's perfectly natural. Just take note of them again without any judgment and then guide your attention back to your breath. A steady inhale and exhale grounding you in this moment.

You are fully present here.

As you continue to breathe, take a moment to consider the space around you. Notice any sounds, the temperature, the sensations of your body against the surface beneath you. Embrace this moment of awareness, simply observing how you're feeling in this moment. Take a couple of rounds of breath here on your own, fully present in this moment.

And when you are ready, begin to shift your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movements you might need and when it feels comfortable for you in your own time, slowly open your eyes, ready to return to your day.
