Welcome to the Love Your Calm podcast. Mini meditations to help you slow down and find your balance in this fast paced world.
Hello and welcome.
This meditation was requested by a listener, so thank you so much for reaching out. Keep those ideas coming. This short meditation is focused on cultivating a sense of appreciation to help you start your day with gratitude.
Let's get started.
Take a moment to find a comfortable position, whatever that means for you today. Take any cues from your body to help you settle into a position that feels good for you. Give your body permission to relax into the support around you. If it feels safe for you, consider gently closing your eyes or maybe just soften your gaze.
When you're ready, let's take one intentional breath here together. Inhale deeply through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Feeling your stomach gently rise. Hold it for a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth, beginning to release any tension or worries. As your stomach softly falls,
Your breath starts to settle in to its natural rhythm as you arrive fully here, for this practice. I invite you to shift your attention to the area around your heart as you prepare to begin this brand new day.
Take a moment here to focus on something in your life you are grateful for. It doesn't matter how big or small, focus on one specific thing that you appreciate in your life. As you greet the day before you. Give yourself a moment to consider how gratitude can shift your perspective. Reminder of the abundance that surrounds you even in the simplest moment. Embrace this feeling without any judgment or questioning, taking note as it begins to fill you with a sense of appreciation.
Continue breathing naturally, focusing on the gratitude in your heart, inviting it to grow with each breath.
Take one final round of breath, welcoming in gratitude with the inhale and letting go of any tension or worries on the exhale.
And when you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to the space around you. Take any movement you may need, maybe wiggle your fingers and toes, moving at your own pace. And when it feels right for you, slowly open your eyes.
